For 12 or 13 years starting in 2000, the web site Milfordpictures.com collected some great pictures of our hometown.  One feature of the web site was a guestbook where people who visited could leave comments.  Though this is no longer an active guestbook, the information contained had so many entries and so many names and memories that we thought it would be a good piece of Milford History.  Enjoy!

Looking for local historians!
I have some furniture of my father's.
made by French & Heald, New Hampshire. maple.
I have read that the funiture co. burned down in 1891.
Did they re-build?The style of this furniture looks to be from the 50's.
Is this possible?

Great site! Just bought the pictorial history book today and found the website info there.
I've lived in Milford since '94 and rented for a short time in a great antique brick home
on Amherst St. (used to be the Red Eye Tavern, so I'm told) I loved seeing all the photos
of the other old places - too bad so many of them were lost to fire or progress . Thanks
for sharing!

wonderful pics. that brought back some nice memories of an adventure my cousin and i had one saturday afternoon in milford in the late 50's. i was 5, he was 12. he was supposed to get his haircut but that never happened. we ended up being locked inside of the white elephant store while all th elocal and state cops were looking for us. after helping ourselves to whatever penny candy we felt like my cousin found a phone and finally called the cops to let them know we had been locked in. what a great place that was!! am also happy to have contributed the pictures i have of the fire at the white horse inn

The site is wonderful, I have loaded some pictures and post cards. I would be more than glad to contribute funds to help you defray costs of the site. I noticed that you said the cost might go up if you kept adding pictures. Keep up the good work.

We are considering a move to New Hampshire. My husband may take a job at the Air Force Base outside of Boston. Could you give
me an idea of how long of a commute that would be? I'd love to see
more pictures of the town.

Thanks,

Sue

What great pictures! Lived in Milford until 1975 (end of 6th grade) when my family moved to California. Especially loved the class pictures from the 70s- brought back memories of many old friends!
